looking out from boston rockThis is a BIG deal. I’ve been a tropical, small(ish)-town kinda girl my whole life; but all of that’s about to change. In just under two weeks, Mr. G and I, will be making the drive up! Though we’ll be leaving Florida and a lot of our family and friends behind, we’re looking forward to this new adventure. For me, New England is something I’ve always wanted to experience: the 4 seasons, the insane sports culture, and the immensely rich history – just to name a few. It just makes me giddy!

We have a TON of family support up there, so I know we will be okay. But I think any move or life-changing event comes with a bit of apprehension. Preparation always helps tone the nausea down for me. So I’ve been reading the “Newcomer’s Handbook For Moving To And Living In Boston” by Jon Gorey ($18 on Amazon). I’ve never been much for best-selling novels and such, but I’ll read a guide or how-to book cover to cover. This book is no exception – incredibly informative and thorough. Whether you’ve picked out a neighborhood to reside in or not, this book will help you decide where to live and who to call to get your cable turned on! It actually belongs to a series of books. If a move to a major U.S. city is in your future, check out the Newcomer’s Handbook Series.

I’m excited and I’ll be there soon!
