Well, it’s been nearly 2 weeks since my birthday. But, I’m a big believer in celebrating for as long as possible. Birthday-week, birthday-month – it’s all good!
This Sherwin-Williams print ad campaign just makes me smile! Continue reading to see more examples.
It’s the end of pixelated logos as we know it! As a graphic designer, sometimes your design requires an official logo. Oftentimes when you request it, you receive a low-res version you can’t work with. This has, of course, happened to me. My solution was a gift from Google: Brands of the World.
Have I mentioned that my favorite band is Weezer? I think I might have… As part of the birthday week festivities, Mr. G got us tickets to see the greatest band EVER at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods!
This is the Colorstrology reading for my birthday. Intriguing and beautiful, isn’t it? Seems I chose the right career to express my creativity!

In my 9th grade French class, I learned that my birthday is a national holiday… in France. As we went around the classroom stating our birth dates in French, my teacher’s interest piqued when I insecurely mumbled, “quatorze juillet?” She kind of went into a French frenzy – clapping and squawking in fast French. She went on to explain that Bastille Day is quite similar to our Fourth of July – complete with fireworks and parades. Très cool!
Ladies and gentlemen: I got a CharlieCard! I think my enthusiasm of possessing this free, plastic card amuses the natives, but I never really experienced public transportation growing up. Up here, it’s so common. But I think it’s fantastic! Of course there are pros and cons, but I love having the freedom of exploring Boston and the surrounding cities without the stress of driving. And with the card, I just tap, tap, tap into any turnstile I wanna go through and I’m on my way (barring that there’s money on my card, obviously)!
Just before we left Pensacola, Mr. G and I had the fortune of hopping over to New Orleans a couple of times. Both were day-trips – the first was sort of an impromptu-rain-soaked-adventure, and the second was a more planned and sunny jaunt with our parents. I’ve combined the photos from both visits into this one post.
“Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
Boston is a fantastic place to spend this patriotic holiday! The weather is divine, there are celebrations everywhere, and the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular is indeed, SPECTACULAR!
